119.5

That number has been on my mind ever since I weighed in yesterday using my Wii Fit Board. Apparently, this is the weight I should be at for my height which is 5'2. My goal is 136. I would have a healthy BMI of 24.9 I believe. Why isn't that good enough?? I don't know if I have it in me to get down to 119. I mean seriously, after I gave birth to my fourth child in Oct. '08 I weighed 206. Now I'm at 150. IF I chose to reset my goal to 119, that would be 87 lbs. lost. I'm not trying to say I'm a super model but where are these additional pounds going to be coming from?? My hubby is already complaining about my tush "saying goodbye":(. I honestly don't know what to think about that number. Why is it bothering me so much? Why am I questioning my personal goal because of what some piece of technology said?? UGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Technology - indeed!
Forget about it and trust your own "guts."
I am 5'2" and 119 would be WAY too low for me, too.

@Anne
I did one of those virtual model things earlier and it looked like I was borderline anorexic. NO THANKS!

I'm 5'1 1/2" and my goal weight is 135 - 140. I want something I can easily maintain, not struggle with everyday. Maybe if you were 16 years old, 119 might be doable...but as a grown woman who has had children, it's a laughable number!

I think you will look great at your original goal weight - charts be damned!

@Shelley

I seriously don't think the charts go by the "average woman" one bit. I have birthing hips for God's sake!! I want my hubby to have something to hold on to!!

I have 14lbs to go so I guess I should move onto toning after I hit 136:)

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog! I am totally thrilled with how wonderful everyone in the blogging community has been since I started walking this path!

BMI is strictly a guide line in my opinion... how you feel is way more important than any number can ever be. Anywhere from 101 to 136 pounds is 'normal' for your BMI, but that doesn't take ANY real life factors into consideration besides your height. Stick with your original goal for now and if you want to set another one after reaching it than go for it (after you have majorly celebrated, of course). Way to go on almost breaking the 150 mark!!!

The BMI provides a range for you to be in depending on your height and age. I think focusing on your waist measurements - under 30 inches and body fat percentage - less than 25% and staying around that recommended BMI range is good. But, ultimately, how you look & feel is the best factor! good luck.
